Same old thing

I could just cut and paste any recent blog into today's entry as nothing has changed.   Some sun, a lot of rain, a run to the gym and then back home!

Every day I mention I'd like to take a nap and today I succumbed to the siren call of the couch!    I needed that and hope I can fall asleep at a decent hour tonight.

I know Sacramento isn't the only place with crazy weather - my sister lives in Nevada and reports heavy snow; I saw on the internet that snow storms had hit the Rockies; it is certainly cold in much of the country. I like to think we can still be surprised at the unpredictability of the weather .  I hope you enjoy whatever is happening in your neck of the woods - this will be a winter to remember for a long time.

  1. Vancouver Island is supposed to be the 'Riviera" of Canada....we have been soooo cold since long before Christmas. Our driveway is so slippery I don't want to negotiate it. So much for "Riviera " 😳🤔

    1. Vera, I bet when we are all sweltering in the summer heat you will be glad to be on the Riviera! This crazy weather is affecting just about everyone I know.

    1. The glacier keeps "calving", where sometimes huge chunks fall off into the water. You can hear the crack in the ice before you see the chunk fall, and it happened to perform when we were there to see it. The ice chunks turn to a thick slush in the water and it is FREEZING! Since you are on the water the wind is always blowing, and it blows over all that ice and slush! I couldn't stay out on deck very long but went indoors to watch it.

  3. It was rough down here today. 76 degrees and bright sun. Had to wear a hat to keep from getting sunburned on the top of my head. I actually broke a sweat this afternoon while washing the RV.

  4. The weather this winter has been interesting to say the least. One day it is freezing and a few days later it's nearly 70. Enough to make us all sick.
Hope you enjoyed your nap and were able to get to sleep later!!

  5. I joined a gym Tuesday, thinking I will do like you..... At least go and walk
the treadmill. It's a start and not far from my house. Only $10 a month
and no commitment. So, I hope I can be as faithful as you. Eventually maybe
I will move on to other machines. It's a start !

    1. Linda, that is so wonderful to hear! Good luck with your walking, but start out easy and work your way up. I've refused to go much over 1 mile for a long time, but now I'm catching up with myself. I'd like to get back to the weight machines but only did that when I worked out with my daughter. They suspended their membership until her foot is better and she can put on a shoe - could take 6 or 8 more weeks or 6 or 8 more months.

I write down how much I walk every day and keep a record of it. Please keep me posted of your progress, and I'm pulling for you!

  6. Yes this is a crazy winter. We had the hottest summer in 20 yrs and now winter is kind of the usual up and down temps. But it does take you down a few notches. I see where parts of Nevada had some flooding.

  7. My sister lives in Carson City, NV and they have had several feet of snow. When it all starts to melt there is bound to be some severe flooding.
