Poor internet coverage

I have been disappointed that my current campground, which is in such a perfect location as it is only 5 miles from my son's house, gets such poor aircard service. And to make matters even worse, I seem to have less luck getting any coverage on the Mac. The Mac and aircard seem to work better in the morning but it's my desktop that I've been using in the evening. I hope it straightens out when I leave here, but I don't hold out much hope for rural PA or VA either, and that is where I plan to make overnight stops.

I can't wait any longer and will pack up and stow the desktop computer today with all the peripherals, since I can't do anything about the outside as it is raining again. I sure hope I don't have to hitch up in rain on Friday. I groan every time I think about having to hitch up - I don't want to have to do it any more.

  1. Ooohh sounds more and more like you are destined to be a smaller motorhome like some posters suggested???

  2. That's too bad about the air card problems, Gypsy. Are you using your Mac in the same vicinity as your laptop? The reception shouldn't be any different between it and the desktop as long as their isn't any significant obstruction, or any kind of electronic interference nearby. I agree, hitching up by yourself can be a lot of work - maybe you'll just have to find a great spot and move less often!

  3. We too are also in a location with poor air card coverage so everything is much slower. Tried our Wilson antennae to boost the signal but of course it didn't work!!

  4. Gypsy, I'll be hooking up alone today also, but it's been easier the last three years since I switched to a motorhome. I can empathize with you. It's time for me to find a place to settle for a month or so. I'm going to try the LoW park in Deming.

Good luck with the air card. Sometimes they're great, and sometimes they're frustrating!
