I took a little break!

Jeannie & Arianna came by yesterday afternoon and took me to Costco.  We left Rocky in the crate, and I worried most of the time I was gone.   I just hope he didn't bark the entire time I was gone but I'm sure I will hear about it from one of my neighbors if he did.

I enjoyed  shopping, and need to go to several more places for things I couldn't get at Costco.  When we got back Jeannie took these 4 photos with her iPhone.  It was difficult to get a decent picture because he wouldn't stop wiggling, but it's the best we could do for now.  Click to enlarge.

I hsve to go clean up doggie do-do, but wanted to get these posted.  I may be back later in the day.

  1. He's really grown and still so cute. Need to put him on a white sheet for a picture. Love how shiny he is.

    1. I hadn't thought about a white sheet which would show him off better. By the time she took the photos I was too tired to even think! I think all dogs are beautiful, but this one is something special.

  4. He's a beautiful boy. We always had difficulty getting good photos of our Black Lab, yet get ones of the Yellow Labs.

    1. He won't be a puppy for long, and I wouldn't have missed this stage for the world.

  7. Awww! He's just a little baby! I knew he was a puppy of course but I guess in reading all your posts about him I never really pictured him being so young. He is a VERY handsome boy!! Thanks for posting photos!

  9. Thank you for posting the pictures and to Jeannie for taking them. He is precious but is a lot bigger than I thought he was, perhaps because I had not seen a recent picture of him.

  10. I was thinking this morning how hard it must be for you to lay on the discipline when he is such a cute bundle of joy. 😈. Just the same....I wish you good luck and lots of enjoyment.

    1. I discipline Rocky about like I disciplined my kids. I tried to use love to get them to behave, and I also turned a blind eye when I knew they were testing me sometimes. (Not for serious things though).

  11. Rocky sure is a pretty boy -- I love his shiny black coat! I'm so glad I haven't offended or annoyed you with my suggestions :) Don't worry about not having a nice grassy area for Rocky to use. Lots of dog people have gravel covered "dog yards" for their dogs. We had one at our house when we lived in Buffalo NO area and it's one of the things we miss. So much easier to clean up dog poop on; no grass getting killed from dog pee; dogs' feet stay cleaner (and drier) in wet weather; and dog never seemed to mind. As evidenced by the dogs living in places like NYC, they can learn to potty on hard surfaces too. I admit that our dogs loved being let loose in the grass-side of the yard, but they would go over to the gravel to pee and then run back to the grass to play. Keep enjoying your new guy and keep telling yourself this will eventually be over and he will be "civilized".

    1. Since I obviously don't know everything, or see things from all angles, I never mind suggestions and comments. If it's regarding something I have a strong opinion on, I hope everyone won't mind if I stick to my ideas sometimes. I love hearing from you all, and other points of view.
