Halfway Through Treatment!

I just got home from my 2nd treatment, and it went as well as, and much shorter than the first one.  I thank my son Steve for taking me and bringing me home.

I'll probably rest for the remainder of the day, and doubt I will go out dancing tonight.  I have just two more weeks of treatments, which means two more weeks of no alcohol, so I will probably want my kids to get together and let me take them to a local craft brewery.  A nice feature of the one nearest me is that they have a large room set aside with toys and activities for children, so families can bring their own kids as well.

I just ate a huge lunch so I think I will relax on the couch and rest my eyes.  Have a great weekend.

  2. Congratulations! Half way through. That's terrific! I know David wishes there were some half way through for his treatment. He's been doing weekly for 6 years.

    1. I have often thought of David, Judilyn's husband, and all those who have to undergo years of treatments. Then I became one of the crowd even if for just a brief month in time (at least, so far). None of us should ever take anything for granted when it comes to our health.

  4. Half way through is wonderful. The important thing is that you are in good spirits and it has not affected your appetite.

A trip to a local craft brewery will be a good treat for you and your family once your treatments are finished and you can celebrate being able to put this behind you. Stay well.

    1. I'm ready to be finished with this process, and hope I come out of it with some energy and motivation. Fortunately the side effects, if there are any from this treatment, aren't anything I can't handle. I remember during the middle of the night thinking about going to the craft brewery. I like the one closest to us - nothing fancy about it but we feel welcome and there is a huge room for families with kids. Before my treatments started I bought a case of Sam Adams Boston Lager and it will sit here until I can enjoy it again. It's not like I drink very much or every day, but similar to my morning coffee, it's such a pleasure to sit down and relax with something that you enjoy.

    1. It is a milestone in my treatments. They give me some sedative type meds that make me doze through most of it. I normally don't take sedatives such as Benadryl, but I decided I'd take whatever they suggest. So far it's working very well. I feel strange some times but have no pain at all, so I guess if the only side effects I get are weird feelings that are gone in a split second, I'm doing well!
