I've had it with Blogger!

I was just finishing up a very long post that I started this morning, complete with lots of pictures. At the touch of a key, and I don't know what I did, I lost the complete post. I'm quitting!

  1. Gypsy... don't quit blogging. I've had the exact thing you describe happen while posting. A simple solution is to write your post in a simple text editor on your pc... notepad or anything similar... and then cut/paste your words into the Blogger editor, and add photos as you see fit. Regardless of what happens with blogger before you hit the publish button, you've still got your words and can do it again if necessary.

    It works for me.

  2. Please don't quit. Use live writer. That's what I use and it is so much easier than blogger. I haven't lost anything since I started using it and I used to have all kinds of problems with blogger. If you want info on it, let me know. It is really easy. It has to be if I can use it.

  3. A suggestion, go to the blogger dashboard and select edit posts. Atleast some part of your post should be there under the description of draft!

  4. I hate it when that happens! Don't let it get the best of you! You're bigger than Blogger! You have some wonderful suggestions here. Personally, I click on "save" about every three minutes.

Looking forward to seeing you back here soon!

  6. It only happens when I know I've written well and the words won't flow as freely a second time around.

Hope you find most of it under Edit Posts.

    Blessings.

  7. What they said! I save mine write up in MS word first, so I always have the text and also save a draft after I load each picture. That way you cannot lose to0 much.

  9. I know your frustration only too well having been in that very same place probably a dozen times. I too vowed to give up blogging forever & that was it. But, somehow after I got myself calmed down I reluctantly crept back to the computer & slowly began tapping away on the keys again. Sometimes into the wee hours of the night with my eyelids practically propped open with popsicle sticks. Give yourself some time Gypsy, give yourself a shake, sneak back up on that computer & try tapping a few keys again:))

  11. Gypsy, come on over to Wordpress and start an RV Blogz! We love the wordpress platform.

Oh, and do what Thom says...don't write the actual post in the blog software, use a text editor first.

  16. You absolutely cannot quit writing your Blog. We all enjoy following your life. I am sure all of us lose our writing once in awhile. If that happens to me I click "ctrl and z" before any other key stroke. That sometimes brings back the whole writing. Not every time but it is worth a try.

  17. Livewriter, so easy, picture transfer, no problem, and it is always there, so much better. You will love it.
We left the Yuba City/Marysville area 5 years ago so enjoy reading your take of the area now.

  18. Gypsy,

Please don't quit. I have been having tons of trouble with them too. Some of my comments from a few days ago, just disappeared. Never did come back up. Also I was told that my blog was published 3 times on one day, and one of them you couldn't even read. I also had to try for 2 hours the other day to get one of my blogs to publish. So, we are all having trouble right now. Please don't quit... :(

  19. OH Gypsy dear, I bet you are smarting over the blog loss. Please try out Livewriter. If you enact the feature, it will AUTO-SAVE as you type! And you can work on blogs without even being online. Then once you get a signal, you can load the completed blog to the internet. And you can use Livewriter to pull it back off to edit it too without losing or damaging the first post.

Please give it a look see?
