Life goes on

And I'm trying to just deal with it.  I was sitting at the dining room table with my granddaughters and one of them told me, "Keep your eyes down".   Her mom is at work so she's taking up the banner!  I just had to chuckle about it.

We were looking up good names for a male black lab that I'm thinking about getting, which takes my mind off my current limitations.

I don't have much to write about so I'll just wish everyone a good day!

  1. So what names are you kicking around?

  2. Rocky seems to be one of them. I was going to name it Smoky because of my beloved pet, Smoky, who hiked 800 miles of the Appalachian Trail with me in 1997. I may still use that name, but I'm looking up other ones. Bear and Jupiter were a couple of other ones we came up with. We eliminated Zeus because Zeus was a warlike Greek god, and I don't want anything warlike! Suggestions accepted, but I have a thing where I wouldn't name a dog with a "people" name. You wouldn't believe how many different lists of lab retriever names there are on the internet!

    1. Pup! LOL - I can come up with some really ingenious pet names. That was what I called our Rough Collie when I was 4 or 5 and it stuck.

In my world, I have to meet the animal to know what name fits it.

    2. I won't officially name the dog until I meet it, as I feel the same way.

  3. I wouldn't give him a name that another of your pets had. Don't ask me why, I just wouldn't. Tears still fill my eyes when I think of the beloved pets that have pasted on.

    1. I doubt that I will use the name of Smoke when I think more about it. I loved that dog so much and feel like he is telling me I should get another dog now.

    1. That is so funny and gave me a good laugh. I would love to use it but wonder about paying all that money for a pedigree and then calling the dog "Tramp". I'm adding it to the list though. Thanks for the suggestion and the laugh!

I can't offer any name suggestions but I am sure you will find the right one.
