I'm still hangin' in there

But just barely. I got the cough and chest congestion back - feel the same as I did a couple weeks before the transplant. Then I worried it might have something to do with inhaling the toxic smoke and fumes from the camper fire in Arizona, but I got over it ok so just figured it was a result of allergies.

Yesterday I ached so bad that I never did get dressed, and slept off and on all day. I'm taking a cough syrup with codeine, and Benadryl tablets which really help me rest, and I hope I get over it soon - whatever "it" is. I'm not ready to waste time going to the doctor and I couldn't drive there if I wanted to. I'll be ok in a day or two, but I just wanted to let you know why I'm not posting.

Meanwhile, you know the drill: Lots of rest and plenty of fluids. Take care!

  3. I think it's because you're hanging around too much civilization. :)

  5. Hurry up and get better. It just ain't no fun being sick. Is your dog taking good care of you? BTW, I saw a Lance camper today that looked just like yours and the access to the propane is in a bad position.

  6. Hate to hear you are feeling so bad. I know my alergies are really bad again, but they usually don't make my body ache, just stuffy and bitchy. Sounds more like you have the flu or a nasty cold. Take care of yourself.

  7. Hi Gypsy, I seldom comment but you have many of the symptoms of Valley Fever - please Google it - the Mayo clinic website has a lot of info - it is a fungus infection of the lungs carried by spores in the desert wind - it can become quite serious - you should definitely go to the doctor & tell him you traveled to Arizona - I think it can be diagnosed with a blood test - It can have periods of worsening symptoms alternating with periods of recovery & especially in older adults must be treated by a doctor - Please read the Mayo clinic website & get it treated immediately - We are very aware of it in Ohio because one of the Reds players got it in spring training & is now very sick - Don't want to alarm you but please go see a doctor - we all care about you even if don't often comment - Take care of yourself - Cindy L

  8. Moonfly's Valley Fever theory is very valid. Gordon from Sandra & Gordon had a nasty case of that a couple years ago.
If that is not what it is then I totally agree with Judy's 'civilization' theory. That is even more valid than Valley Fever.....

  10. Hope you feel better soon. Valley Fever is not a nice illness. If you are not better in a few days take everyones advice and see a Dr.
My dad had it and he was in the hospital for a long time as they were treating him for the flu. And this was in AZ.
