Another Week

Another week is getting started and I wonder what this one will bring.   More chemtrails this morning, and I also wonder what they are bringing.  It can't be anything good or healthy.

I was able to get to the gym this morning but was so uncomfortable in what I was wearing.  I don't like wearing the tights that most women prefer, and sweat pants are my gym wear of choice but since it's going up to 95 degrees or higher today, I'm not interested in sweat pants.  I have a pair of shorts on that would be great if they came up to the waist.  I often wonder who likes the pants fall below the waistline - probably girls with flat stomachs.  I find these short slip until they are below my belly and I hate that part!

But I walked a little over a mile and that is what counts - not what I'm wearing.

I love my new way of eating and am hoping to see some extra pounds when I get on the scale one of these days.  I probably have a cleaner stove than I've ever had in my life, as frying bacon, steaks, etc. causes splatters, and it takes me a lot longer now to clean up after breakfast and dinner.   But I'm so enjoying the new feelings of well-being and energy.  I just hope it is permanent, which it very well may not be.

I'm hoping this summer will be a good one for camping.  I probably won't want to go too far away, but I'd like to talk the kids into a weekend trip at least, maybe in a National Forest campground,  or back to Sly Park (a state park).  I've given a lot of my gear away but I think I can still come up with the basics.   Until I went to the event yesterday I had forgotten how nice it is to be outdoors.  Unfortunately, where I live there is so much dirt and dust, the houses are so close together, and for a lot of other reasons, I don't enjoy sitting outside.  I've been trying to figure out a way to carve out a little space that I can make attractive enough to want to spend time there, although the basic drawbacks would still be there.

  1. Do you have an electric skillet? I take mine out on the patio and fry bacon there. I usually spread paper towels or news paper down first.

    1. That is a wonderful idea but I haven't had an electric skillet for years. I usually fry bacon, as well as chops and steaks, in cast iron. I heard a long time ago that your food gets a trace amount of iron from the skillet. I don't have a clue if that is true or not, but since I tend to be iron deficient it's worth a try.

  2. I'm with you on those short wasted clothes. I do have some great work out clothes that I found at Walmart a few years ago. Hope they last me another 5 yrs.

    1. I have several items of workout clothes that I got from my other gym, which gave points for every time you visited the gym and they could be spent on several items including gym clothes. I don't feel comfortable in leggings, though I have a pair that fall just below the knee that I like. I'd rather wear my street clothes to tell the truth. I don't think pants that show every single flaw in my body help me to do a better workout!

  3. I guess, as a man, I never think much about I wear to the gym or anyplace else for that matter, as long as I am comfortable. Of course, I am often overrided on the dress issue by my better half:)
