The countdown!

I think I have all my shopping done except for one gift card I want to buy.  Now the job I dislike immensely is wrapping everything, and as soon as I got back from the store with wrapping paper & tags, I  realized I need some tissue paper for a couple of small items.  I guess I can pick that up anywhere, and may even have it in the back of a closet.

My walking regimen went well at the gym this morning and it seemed to go by more quickly.  I was back at one of my old machines overlooking the punching bags, raquetball courts, etc., and walked 2-1/2 miles in about 43 minutes.

Jeannie's chiropractor invited me to be present while she went over the problems and treatment she will use.  It is a little different than the one I go to, although their objectives and philosophy are very similar.  One thing Jeannie's chiro does is have them rest in a darkened room after treatment.  She told me I could rest there as well, but that is one thing that would drive me crazy.  I nap once in a while when I'm really tired - on the couch or in my bed - but my internal dialog and energy are raging when I'm awake.  Not that it always translates to action, such as housecleaning and such, but I have extreme nervous energy that seems to be mainly internalized.    It may be the only thing that keeps me moving!  We are going back this afternoon and I will pick her up from work at 1:30; I think today's appointment will be much shorter, and I hope I'm not driving in the dark coming home.  I have done a pretty good job of just dealing with it though, which shows what mental attitude can sometimes accomplish.

I'm always complaining that I can't find crossword puzzle books that are difficult enough.  I found some online that looked like what I wanted and they arrived yesterday.  Dang, they are really hard and it's not going to be such a breeze working them, but it's what I need to keep my mental faculties humming along.

It's hard to believe that there are just 2 days before Christmas Eve.    I wish everyone the best of the holiday season.   I didn't think I would write the blog over the next few days, but it is therapeutic to me so I will decide when the time comes.

  1. Both Kathy and I are having issues with cataracts as well. We have found that by using the Yellow Night Time Driving Glasses it helps to reduce the headlight glare from oncoming traffic. You can pick them up almost everywhere, from moderately priced to cheap. Give them a try, they might help.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. I've put it on my list for Costco tomorrow. If they don't have them, there are plenty of other places that probably will. Thanks so mu.ch for the tip

  2. Wish I were nearby. I LOVE to wrap presents and can spend hours happily creating pretty packages. I'd be happy to do yours.

  3. I need to go finish tomorrow since I fell I couldn't do anything now tomorrow I will have to finish for sure.
I just went back to the blog you posted about travel. I can't believe they charge that kind of money to get a dog a forever home. Sorry they think that's how to find a pup a home.

If you don't post or I don't get online Merry Christmas Gypsy.

    1. Thanks, Jo, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas as well.

We think we are finished with the buying and wrapping, but there is always one little thing we've forgotten. It goes on and on!

  4. Will you ask your chiropractor sometime what his method or type of
treatment is called. It sounds very interesting.
Also, a very Merry Christmas to you!
Always enjoy your blog..... Often your problems are similar to mine. Maybe
    it's just getting older. Lol

    1. I will ask, although they are known as "corrective chiropractors", definitely take x-rays, etc. I found out about all this by watching youtube videos with Dr. John Bergman in Huntington Beach CA. He is a real character and his personality sure comes through in his videos - some people might not like him while others swear by him. I managed to get to his office on my way back from NY a couple of years ago. He provided me with the xrays and everything on a disc, which I gave to my chiro here in Sac. I selected this one because he is an associate of Dr. Bergman and they have both been in classes taught by the other from time to time. I'll ask my doctor exactly how he would describe his type of care.

My daughter's new chiro has much of the same philosophy but also a very different way of doing things. I think she is really going to benefit from treatment. If I were you I would go to Youtube and search Dr. Bergman. He has tons of videos on just about every subject and ailment.

  5. I just had some adjustments to my neck and back yesterday as well. I have a ton of problems to work out as we looked at my X-ray. I am feeling so good from my Calmare treatments for my CRPS/RSD there and am as happy as can be by the results. Now we just wait and see how long they will last. Merry Christmas Gypsy!!! All the best to you in the New Year.

    1. Isn't it wonderful when you can be brought up to such a level of happiness and comfort by the right treatments? I'm hopeful for you, and just stay positive. I wish you the best also for the holidays and the new year.
