I made it!

I arrived in NY early this afternoon. First thing I did after walking Lady through all the nice grass, was to take a nap on the couch. It's good to be out of the truck!

I will get a laptop charger as soon as I can, and then I have to do some research to find medical providers. My son is connecting me with a cardiologist but I am going to need some pretty hefty dental work; I'm thinking some of the way I've been feeling is probably due to the infection that has settled in one of the teeth I need removed. My niece, who is a dental hygienist, took xrays for me while I was in Milwaukee, so I know what I am facing.

Who knows, I may get to feeling so good again I may want to keep on traveling. Of course that takes money!

  8. It's always a great feeling & sense of accomplishment to finally reach a main destination. I don't envy you having to deal with all that dental work but somethings infected teeth can cause a whole malady of illness's.

  9. When I started following your blog about 2 years ago, I was amazed at your courage & stamina for traveling alone. Now I consider it a must read to prepare myself for how NOT to make RV decisions, for traveling, purchases, home base, medical support, checklists, etc. For example, who would ever plan on camping in a tent in the upper Midwest in mid May? I feel more prepared having followed your blog & cross country trips without stops to "stop & smell the roses". I like the idea of 200 miles per day & no non emergency endurance trips.

  10. Congrats on safe arrival at destination.

The good thing about modern dental care is that it is almost completely painless. I had an emergency root canal and crown done in Colo Springs two years ago and it was a great experience.

The only issue, as you noted, is money. That dental work cost more than my first new car :(

  12. After my last bout with tooth pain, I can guarantee it really ruined my enjoyment of our travels. Hope you find a great dentist and get everything taken care of. Enjoy those naps. They are special.
