Monday morning mess

I poured my first cup of coffee this morning, and poured and poured and poured. And watched the level reach the top of the mug, waver an instant, and then run over on to the counter top. I can't say I wasn't wide awake, as I had already walked Lady which is first order of business each day. I was just mesmerized as I watched the level of coffee in the mug. I used to watch my kids when they insisted on pouring their own milk or kool-aid, and they sometimes did the same thing - watch it run right up to the top and then over, and still they poured. I wondered then, as I wonder now, whatever is that person thinking.

So with such a good start to the day and the week, I proceeded to set up a large box and pack it with linens. Everything fit perfectly, except for what I have in the camper that will probably have to be included eventually.

It is difficult to explain to someone who is unconnected to the situation, but I sometimes have bad dreams about that camper. You can draw your own conclusions, as I've drawn mine. Dizzy Dick wondered in a comment yesterday if I would post my blog when I leave for the east. The answer is a resounding HELL YEAH! I'll make my way around the country and eventually be back in Sacramento, but I need a change of scenery right about now. And I'm not certain what I'll be driving, but I hope it's something that gets better fuel mileage than a 1 ton pickup diesel with dually wheels.

  1. I know exactly how you felt while you were pouring that coffee. I've been there myself. Just watched it happen and didn't even try to stop it. Drifted to never never land.

Hope you find a nice little something to drive east. I'm sure not looking forward to filling up our motor home to head north.

  6. I am so happy I bought that little trailer in Lakeside, AZ last summer that is now affixed to the property.
Filling the motor home for that trip would have left me half way there. The car sure is cheaper.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

  8. Bet you don't have all the "stuff" I have. Even my movers wondered how in the world I fit all that stuff in an RV! Better to travel lite. I am going through stuff to give go Goodwill, and next time I move, it will just be my clothes and paper plates!
