It lurks constantly at the back of my mind that I need to be packed up and moved out of this apartment by the end of April. I have no idea where I will move to, whether I will need to find a storage for my small amount of furniture and belongings, or what I am going to do. What I really look forward to is my check up by the eye surgeon on Thursday, May 12th, and leaving Sacramento for points east on Friday May 13th. Fortunately 13 has always been a lucky number for me, and Friday the 13th has always been a good day, so that is when I will leave.
I still don't feel like doing a thing, but since I needed to get a few groceries in, I decided to go to a nearby uHaul location to get some packing boxes. I came away with 3 large and 1 medium, for starters. Now I must figure out how I will pack them and more importantly, what in the world will I do with the packed boxes! But at least I've made a start, and I hope the antibiotics I'm on will bring me back to full life in the next few days so I can get started.
It's ironic how good a planner I have always been, very organized and efficient. Living and traveling in an RV for a couple of years led me to disregard all planning, except for when I had volunteer work jobs lined up, so now I don't know where to begin. Can the plans for moving from an apartment (to god only knows where) be written in jello?

It will be a good thing when you move out of that apartment, as I think that there might still be mold in there. Maybe then, you will feel better, and more like yourself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get back into top gear soon.

I agree with Penny. I sure hope you start feeling better soon. And I think once you do feel better than you will be able to tackle the job of packing with more ease. Being sick takes everything out of you including your mental attitude.
ReplyDeleteGypsy. I love your last line, "can planning be written in Jello". I am a new follower via Dee and get out and move. Hope you are well and ready for travel.

Will you still be posting when you head East?
ReplyDeleteDizzy, when I leave for the east you will probably be able to hear the rebel yell from Sacramento way down in Texas. Everyone will know when Gypsy's on the Road Again.
ReplyDeleteLove your comment to Dizzy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm now in the same position you're in. I have a move-out deadline, because I've reserved a camping spot for June 1, and I have to remove all my junk before I can rent my condo out. I'm just going to do it a day at a time. What else can you do? I'm not even looking at the big picture. Things DO always seem to work out.
I'm glad you're still posting. :)
I'm also having a hard time getting motivated to pack things up. I just want to get on the road and leave this "mess"/"stuff" for someone else to take care of.
ReplyDeleteI hope that big Rebel yell doesn't cause you to go cross eyed & further complicate any future eye surgeries. Organizing things to pack for a trip or a move is a daunting task for sure & doesn't seem to get any easier with age. Maybe it's because we seem to have a lot more darn stuff than before!!
ReplyDeleteTake a day at a time, packing a few things every day. We're all behind you Gypsy. It will be good seeing you TRAVELING again.
ReplyDeleteEvery journey begins with a single step... :)
ReplyDeleteOhhh I like Judy's comment. That is soooo true!
