I thought I'd check in and say that things are about the same with me. The pain is still nearly constant, and it is difficult to even look at food most of the time, with the exception of ice cream!
Since I really can't do even light housework, I can only sit here and look at the dust piling up. I never was much of a housekeeper, but now things are even below my standards!
So I am wondering how I can begin to get some of my energy back, and I keep thinking about my treadmill. It has enough safety features as it is specifically designed for seniors, but then I realize I can't wear "tie shoes". (I can't tie them with one hand!) I'm very comfortable in my Hefflinger clogs, but not on a treadmill even at a very low speed. Jeannie wants me to wait to try it when she can be here, and she has a point there.
I hope everyone has a good week ahead.

My technique is to use a one handed leaf blower. Open doors and windows and walk through the house and blow it clean. Takes about 10 minutes and I'm done. Good luck and I hope you heal quickly...
ReplyDeleteyour idea certainly has merit, I notice, however, that holding something heavy in my "good hand" causes pain in the bad hand as well. My short to middle term future doesnt look very good.

Most times the pain from broken bones normally stops after three to four weeks. Could the wrist not have been set properly?
ReplyDeleteSketchers running shoes simply slip on.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I've had someone tell me the pain from her broken wrist lasted a very long time, and still recurs now and then years later. Mine was broken in 13 places, according to xrays in the E.R. They take xrays when I go for bi-weekly visits. Thanks so much for the tip on Skechers.
DeleteTo be honest, the pain you are experiencing is probably normal. You do not have a simple fracture. You have many small fractures, all of which need to fuse and mend. In addition to the broken bones the ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves are probably also injured. In my opinion, having experienced a complicated ankle fracture three years ago, I think you are looking at months of recovery, not weeks. And yes, pain and stiffness will be part of that but I can assure it will eventually fade.
ReplyDeleteThat was a bad break well a few breaks. Just sorry your in pain all the time. Yes wait for Jeannie to try out the tread mill. If you can do even a little you might get some energy back.
ReplyDeleteKeeping the house clean should be the least of your worries your health takes priority. Who is going to judge your housekeeping skills?
ReplyDeleteThe only good thing about this pandemic is that no one comes to visit at least not at our house...I have a chain and two locks at the front gate!
