I may rethink this!

I'm talking about exercise, specifically yoga.  I mentioned yesterday that I did a very easy and basic yoga pose that should have been perfect for me.   Today my neck is sore and while I don't feel it all the time, a twinge or ache comes on when I least expect it.  Maybe I need to just forget about getting into better shape, and be satisfied with being an old lady!

I can already notice that the daylight is a few minutes longer.  The shorter days don't really bother me except that I don't like driving in the dark, which seems to come on very quickly in the afternoon.  I don't like to drive, period!

I think I've just ruined my chances for dinner.  I've been snacking along with my afternoon beer and I think my appetite is gone.  I don't mind doing that once in a while because I eat so much throughout the morning and for lunch.

I have no plans to celebrate the New Year - I can remember when I always went out with a group to a party on New Year's Eve.  Now I wouldn't even think of it!  Have a safe and sane New Year's Eve,

  1. We enter the New Year “sleep wise “ as well. Hope 2018 will be really good to you. Enjoy your first class trip across country. Be careful with Yoga!

    1. I'm looking forward to boarding a train again. I remember loving yoga when I was younger and how much it did for me, but since I didn't stay with it over the years I can't do it now! I'd better stick to walking for exercise. I wish you and wonderful 2018!

  2. Like you, we have no plans for New Years Eve either. In fact we haven't participated in a New Year's Eve celebration for decades. Just not interested in all that hoopla anymore.

    1. I don't drink much any more, especially in the evening; I don't like big crowds and lots of noise, and I get sleepy before midnight! When did I turn into an old stick-in-the-mud.

  3. You know what they say about exercising. . . No pain, no gain.

    1. I know that saying, and I've decided I'm not going for the gain!

  4. I love yoga but can't do some of the poses but what I can do I do. I'm 73 yrs old with a bad left knee but that doesn't stop me from doing Tree Pose. Just do what you can still do.

    1. I sort of lost heart after my shoulders hurt so badly after a simple pose. I should try again and go slowly.

  5. I think it is normal for you to hurt after doing a yoga pose that you have not done in a long time.

Even though I used to be a partier back in the day...I would usually stay home on New Year's Eve...too many variables out of my control like people who would otherwise not drink deciding to drink and drive on this particular date.

These days I stay up worried mother's drunken neighbors don't start a grass fire with all their darn fireworks....grrrrrrr!!!

    1. I went to the gym this morning and don't think I'll hurt as much as I did after that one simple yoga pose. I hate it that fire seems to be much more of a worry now.
