Visitors this morning!

I had a wonderful morning when d-i-l Meg came over with granddaughter Quinn to spend a few hours with me.  Meg brought pastries, and we talked nearly non-stop.  I hope we can do it again soon, and on a more regular basis.

I then went to the grocery and decided to just buy a deli sandwich for my lunch.  I don't do that very often and it was a real treat - pastries for breakfast and made-by-someone-else sandwich for lunch - can't get much better than that!  The Salvation Army was back so all is well with the Christmas season.  This year the bell ringer is a woman, something I've never seen before.

What a beautiful day it is - cold in my house, as always, but the sun is shining brightly through the doors and windows.

I've lost track of time today and wondered why the sun was getting so low in the sky.  Take care, and I hope to be back tomorrow.

  1. What a treat...family and pastries!

At Mom's house it is hot in the summer but overly warm in autumn and winter, so it is no wonder our electric bills go through the roof at this time.

    1. My mobile home park buys the utilities at a lower rate and then passes the savings on to the residents. I pay a much lower rate for electric, and I also use less. The cold weather is lovely but I'm running a space heater nearly all the time I'm home. My house is still freezing - often it's colder inside than it is outside! I'll survive though.

  2. I have a friend who will be a bell ringer this year. I must find out where so I can enrich her take :-)

    1. So has she done it in previous years. As I mentioned, this is the first woman I've ever seen ringing the bell. I think she plans to be there all season long, so I've got a stash set aside - I go to Bel Air at least 3 times a week!

  3. We have had mostly female bell ringers in our area. My family has a long history with the salvation Army. Many of my ancestors have devoted thier lives to working with them.

    1. They are one of the few charitable organizations that I trust. My thanks to your family's association with them.
