Right now, on Saturday at 5:30 pm, the temp is up to 109F. My a/c quit running so I turned it off hoping it just needs to cool down. These unbearably high temps will last until the middle of next week, when it will drop into the 90's! The ceiling fan is moving the hot air around and I have a floor fan running; just hope the electricity isn't cycled off. I don't know how I will convince Rocky to make a quick trip outdoors.
It's just what I don't need right now. My wrist pain has put me in agony all day long. What is this world coming to?

The world is coming to 2021 and all its adventures.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, this too will pass. Not much of a consolation but not much you can do about the heat outside. Maybe a dip in a lukewarm bathtub would help, with a little epsom salt added ?
ReplyDeleteDid you call the home owner to let her know about the a/c? This heat is horrible and maybe the unit just froze up. If they have to run to hard that can happen but if it still isn't working call them to send a repair man you can't sit in that heat
ReplyDeleteShe knows and will call the servicemen. They just serviced in about 2 wks ago. I guess it's called regular maintenance, but sometimes I wish she would just let it go. My fireplace worked so well and the chimney was perfect until she had a guy come to clean the chimney. He remarked on how clean it was. Shortly after that the smoke began to come back into the living room whenever I had a fire.
DeleteI had the broken wrists as I said,....the best thing I found for the pain is Ice Packs..that helps with any inflammation and it really worked better for me than pain killers. You should ask you dr for some occupational therapy. It will help. Best of luck.
ReplyDeleteI use ice, but not consistently. I am about to give up any idea of being pain free able to do much of anything with my left hand. Now, with the heat wave and temperatures expected to reach 112 until Wednesday, I just plain give upon everything.
DeleteI certainly hope the repairmen make you a priority. I remember how hot the house got when our unit went out three years ago but at least we could go cool off at the mall and other larger stores...can't do that anymore.
ReplyDeleteI do not know what to say about the pain that other commenters have not mentioned before.
Can you go cool off at your daughter's pool?
I've been urged by my daughter to come over and enjoy their pool. After a canoe accident almost 45 years ago, I don't go near water. In fact, after that I have only taken showers and would never get into a bathtub of water!
