I've just been able to access my AOL mail and it's nearly 2:00 pm! I don't know what their problem was but it affected a lot of people from what I can tell. I was talking to my son on the phone about it, and he replied that I could live without AOL for a day or more and nothing terrible would happen. I realize he is right, and I just now looked at the 31 messages piled up in my inbox, and deleted most of them unread! Why do we let ourselves be so controlled by technology.
I'd like to get weaned off the internet, or at least not have to check things so often. I'm not watching TV except for the local evening news and weather, and I can tell my internet time has increased exponentially.
I'm still dressed warm, but don't have to run the electric heater and in fact, have the front door open a bit. We are at 64F, with a high expected today of 69degrees, and the sun is bright. I went out and sprayed my weeds & grass growing among the rocks with a vinegar-salt solution. There is no way around it though, I am going to have to go out and pull up the offending plants.
Has anyone noticed that I'm answering comments right on the blog page? I'm going to do it for a while at least, although I don't know how many folks check back, or if those who don't leave a comment ever read the ones that are posted.
I'm going to go out and sweep my driveway. I have a leaf blower but don't like the noise it makes. I have those big earplugs (or whatever you call them - they look like ear phones), but don't like wearing them, and just don't like using the blower itself. I don't feel I have much control over it.

I'm with you in hating the leaf blowers. I'd have to have tons and tons of leaves before I could be convinced to use one. They are SO noisy. I put all the junk email I get on my blocked domain list and I get very little now. Wish that had been possible with the mail in my mailbox. What junk that was.
ReplyDeleteMy son bought me the leaf blower when I lived in NC. I had so many trees and tons of leaves. It would be a lot quicker and easier to use here in CA.
DeleteHi, Gypsy. I wonder why my AOL mail wasn't affected. We are having the warmest winter in years here in TX. The flowers in our yard that
ReplyDeleteare supposed to be annuals are still going strong. I noticed new red verbena blooming just yesterday. Every winter we usually put some flowers in at night when a freeze is expected. This year there have been VERY few nights like
Watching TV here is a trying experience. We were just shown Texas volunteers going door to door in New Hampshire for Ted Cruz. All of the news here is tinted red what with the choice of stories, and the vocabulary used to describe what has happened.
Good luck with the fight again weeds!
.
I don't think all AOL mail was affected, but there were hundreds of people who couldn't access it from what I could tell. Glad it seems to be fixed.
DeleteTo tell the truth, I think ALL news everywhere right now seems to be tinted red. They don't even seem to care what my candidate is about, but hopefully he'll show them all!
I lived without internet for quite a while but was lucky I could get it off my phone. I couldn't access my blog though it was just to much trouble.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any trees but I sure get lots of leaves, but I just sweep them up.
We had a beautiful day today in upper 70's loved it.
I do come back and readyour response
I don't have a smart phone so I can't get the internet that way. It's the computer or nothing, and I've been noticing little problems lately with my computer.
DeleteWOW- I did not know that AOL was still in business:)
ReplyDeleteThey sure aren't as good as they were back in the old days!
