I still get cold feet when I think of having 25 or so people here on Christmas Day. I will never have enough seating, for one thing.
I've decided to kennel Rocky overnight so that will be one less thing I have to worry about. Of course, I'll worry myself sick that he is ok. Now I have to get the word out to two of my potential guests who might want to bring their dogs.
We are still having some rain just about every day, so nothing really dries out. I'm not complaining, but I love it when the sun peeks out from behind the clouds now and then.
Have a good day - another weekend is around the corner. It's like watching life go by in fast forward motion!

ReplyDeleteI mentioned it to Jeannie this afternoon, and she thinks I shouldn't say anything about the dogs, and that I shouldn't put Rocky in a kennel. It will be a disaster, and the last time I will have a crowd at my house. I tend to let people walk all over me up to a point, and I will probably reach that point at Christmas.
DeleteGorgeous door decor. I wouldn't put my mutts in a kennel. This is their home. I know Rocky will be all hyped with all those people around but I still think it would be okay. However, I would tell the company not to bring their dogs. But that's me. You need to do what's comfortable for you. I sure hope you can relax and enjoy yourself a little bit.

I agree it's Rocky's home, and realizing how strong his separation anxiety is, I don't think I could leave him overnight with strangers. I will be a doormat one more time but after this, I'm done!
DeleteSince Rocky has separation anxiety have you considered maybe putting him in his crate in your room so at least you know he is safe and can let him out when everyone else goes home? Just a thought.

The thing about the crate is that he would bark constantly if confined to it. I've about decided I'm just going to accept whatever happens. I am never going to go through this ordeal again, though. I don't even like Christmas and am being pushed into it. I think my kids realize I would probably stay home if the day was celebrated in someone else's home so they are pushing me to host it. My big problem is that I hate conflict of any sort and will go to great lengths to avoid it.
DeleteNot being a fan of Christmas I do not know what to tell you. I too hate conflict so if I had a family I would probably do the same as you...go along with it. On the bright side this will be your first and last time to be host at your new place.
DeleteI got spammed by this idiot as well but Rick and Kathy gave me some good advice in my blog to help from happening again in the future. They suggested that I do not delete it but mark it as SPAM so the system learns to recognize it and deletes it on its own.
ReplyDeleteI also changed the settings on my blog to require moderation after X number of days...I chose 3 days but you can choose what you like because this worthless spammer hit you on several older posts.
I hope this doesn't become a "thing". I've been lucky to have only a few of these spammers hit me in all my years of blogging.
DeleteI went back and deleted this spam from the past 7 blog posts. How do you mark it as "spam"? I didn't see any option to do that so I deleted them one by one. Then I had to go back and delete the the notification that the post had been deleted. So now I don't think anything shows up at all about it. Why do people do nasty things like that. Why do I even ask, considering all the nasty people in the world, starting with some politicians. They just want to hurt and annoy others, I suppose.
