Jeannie spent the day with me yesterday, and first took me to Home Depot's garden department. I bought two hanging plants for the living room. The woman at the register told me I shouldn't transplant them for 2 weeks, but to leave them in the original pots. As you can see I put the original pots with plants, right into the pots that I bought for them and will replant them in 2 weeks. This shows one of the pots as well as the photos over the mantle. Having pictures up makes it finally look like home. Incidentally, where the dog's crate is in the corner of the living room, is where the recliner will go. It matches the couch, and I sure wish I didn't have to keep it covered but it's a favorite napping place for Rocky! (Not sure when the recliner will be delivered but Beck's Furniture assures me it won't be long now.) (Click on a photo to enlarge it.)
This is my dining table with a beautiful cross stitch over it. The cross stitch was done by my daughter-in-law, Sandy, from New York. She also makes the best fried rice, ever!
I am having difficulties with posting photos, so I think I will stop for now and go ahead and publish what I've already written. Maybe by tomorrow I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I wish everyone a good week ahead.

Glad you are becoming more acclimated to your new home. Nice fireplace and now you have your family pictures hung.
ReplyDeleteYou and all your readers have a nice week and I can not believe it will be the last one for June 2019. Time does fly by.
Not only time flies by but the story of my life as well!
DeleteI am much more satisfied now that I have a few pictures hung, as well as plants.
Half the year is almost over with, and it's hard to believe.
DeleteI think I will enjoy the fireplace this winter but doubt that I will deal with the mess of burning regular logs. I'll just get the ones you buy and strike a match to. I always loved burning logs but it's too much trouble to clean up. When I lived in Ireland I burned coal for the warmth - most days out of the year, and loved it.
Hanging pictures and adding a few plants always makes a house a home. I't looking really nice and I love a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the fireplace as it's like another person (or entity) keeping you company. I wonder how Rocky will react to it. As I mentioned previously, I think I will just burn the artificial logs as they are so much easier to clean up after.
DeleteThose fire logs are great no fuss no muss. You may have to decorate that mantle for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is starting to suggest that I have Christmas here at my place, and i'm sure she would love to decorate. I really don't celebrate Christmas and hate the thought of a Christmas tree that Rocky would destroy before it's even decorated. I guess I'm an old Scrooge!
DeleteAnxious to see your veggie paintings hanging in your new home. Hurry please. You inspired me, girl.
