At Home

I started for home at about 10 a.m. this morning. Stopped at the Goodwill Donation Center with a printer that I had thrown in my truck to get rid of, and the two guys working the donations were absolutely in love with my truck. They kept circling it and noticing various features; one of the guys asked if he could look inside, and of course I said ok. One of them wanted to buy it, but I told him if and when I sell it will go as a package with the camper.

I got milk and 1/2 & 1/2 to bring back home, and on impulse bought some chocolate chip cookie mix. I have never in my life used a cookie mix before, and I hope they taste good enough that I can eat all 3 dozen!

When I walked in the door this morning I was hit by a blast of arctic air! Every window in the place was open, I guess to get rid of the odors from the new tile? They still have to paint, and while I thought they would just paint the wall where the cut-outs were, they can't match it to the original paint so they are going to do the entire thing.

I probably should have waited another day, but a week was all Lady and I could manage right now. I miss those little girls desperately, though.

  3. I'm not a big cookie eater, so about once year I buy one of those refrigerator Tollhouse cookie blocks. I break off four cookies at a time and bake them, and put the rest in the freezer. Works for me! I wouldn't know what to do with 3 dozen cookies! :)

I've found them to be very tasty.

  4. Cut the cookies twice as big as they recommend, that way you will only have a dozen and a half!!!!! They won't be nearly as hard to eat that way!

  5. Well...hi Gypsy. I see from your picture you had someone put Sir Lance-a-Lot back on your truck. I've been thinking about you and your upcoming eye surgery. Glad you are able to be back in your apartment...and hope the smell paint is not too bad. I'll probably be having eye surgery in Feb or March. Mine will be for cataracts. Take care Gypsy.

  6. Cookies are one of the things that if I eat one I would then have to carry one with eating all the rest of them. I never buy things like that simply because I can't control myself & stop at one cookie. It's the same reason we never go to all you can smorgasboards......

  7. I have used those cookie mixes, and they are good, but they never make as many as they say. Glad you got to go home. Stay warm.

  8. Let's see: is your truck 4 wheel drive, with dulies? 3/4 ton? That's a lot of truck. I'll look for you on that show about back country in Alaska.
