I got the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine! After several hours my arm is not sore, but I won't be surprised if I have some discomfort tomorrow. I went through a lot of internal dialogue about taking this step, but I'm glad I did. I don't want to get the virus myself, nor do I want to get it and pass it on to anyone else. I can't remember how many weeks away the 2nd dose is, but I will be notified by the medical practice. Right now I am feeling great!
It seems like they are juggling to get people scheduled for the vaccine, and I understand that many don't get notified of their appointment for a while after requesting. I think I got my acceptance and appointment within hours of requesting it, probably because of my magic age of 80!
I will keep you posted of any negative side effects I may feel in the next couple of days. Of course, everyone has a different reaction to vaccines, but I hope my experience will help some of you decide what you want to do in this regard.
Received my first Pfizer inoculation last Wednesday. Some arm soreness (not as much as after the flu vaccine last fall) and a slight headache for a day. Second Pfizer inoculation is 3 weeks after the first one.
ReplyDeleteI have a little discomfort now and then but not enough to even complain about,
DeleteGlad you got yours and I have recieved mine as well.I'm sure you'll be fine.Of course if you were a republican, you wouldn't need the shot because they're special, masks and vaccines are an infringement of their rights.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at this one!
DeleteCongratulations! I'm not sure when in the world I'll get mine since I'm never in one place for longer than 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteYou probably need it as much as anyone because you are in much more contact with people than many of us are. Stay safe!
DeleteSo glad to hear that. I have a phone/doctor appointment tomorrow and will ask him how to go about getting the vaccine. I have had the flu vaccine regularly for more than 20 years without problems. Should not have to wait too long since I am turning 85 shortly. Wish me luck 😁
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a flu shot for many years, and always got way too many side effects. My arm is a bit sore this morning but I can deal with it,
DeleteAlso, when I called to make my appointment and listed my age as 80, I got an immediate response and received the 1st vaccine the next day.
DeleteGlad you were able to take the first step to protecting yourself.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be watching for your reports.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I'm glad I did, now that it's done! I rarely need a doctor or medical care, and this is no time to take chances.
DeleteI'm happy you had success in getting the shot so fast. I am sick of this state I cannot even make an apt. this is not good as this state is the highest for Covid19!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you decided to get the Covid-19 vaccine!
ReplyDeleteI’m thrilled for you! ❤️❤️❤️

Of course, here in California, there is supreme rationing. After health professionals, assisted living facilities and staff, only 75+ are receiving shots. The rest of us whippersnappers have to wait. And wait. Most of us 65+ will not likely have availability for a couple of months. Stay healthy everyone!!!!
