Moon watching

I'm still looking at the moon before I go to bed, and several days after the full moon, it is still a gorgeous sight.   I wish I lived somewhere there is less light pollution so I could enjoy the stars.  I will never forget walking to the village when I lived in Ireland, in pitch dark, and looking up and seeing the Milky Way.  It was the most beautiful and indescribable thing I've seen!

I read more of the material in the packet given to me by the eye surgeon, and wonder how I'm going to survive this!  I'm not worried about the surgery, but afterward for 2-5 days.  I have to keep my head facing downward (how will I eat or drink?), sleep on my stomach in a weird position (I normally can't sleep on my stomach), and I have to have an adult with me the first night.  I am not going to stay anywhere but in my own home and sleep in my own bed the first night or any other night.  I'll be fine.  I just hope my daughter keeps her mouth shut about it!

I'm starting to make little stacks on one side of my bed for things I will be packing.   I'm getting excited about it, but have a little dread at the same time as to whether I will be able to cope with my luggage, walk down the platform and climb on the train without tripping and falling.  I'm usually very careful and take my time, and I will accept a hand if it is offered to me.  I love the stage of life I'm in (it wouldn't do any good to feel otherwise), but when I think of when I was young and strong (and maybe even a little bit pretty) I could cry!

  1. I must go out and look tonight; it has been beautiful here in all phases. I sure hope all goes well and quickly for you. You might practice before surgery for your ordeal afterwards.I can cry too, Gypsy and you are in much healthier condition than I. Life is just too short, can you agree, but so grateful I've made it this far along. 77 now. I love April and May
especially. Lately I'm excited - painting - will email you about it.

    1. I'm 77 as well, and agree life is too short. I'm grateful for every day. I'd love to hear about your painting. I hope to return to it one of these days - right now I have two granddaughters who come to visit and have free rein with all my art supplies, and they are much better than I.
