YUK !!!

I'm taking Rocky to the vet this afternoon because he seems to have a parasite problem.  I never had a dog that had something like this once they were de-wormed at a very young age.  But I've never had a pure-bred dog before, and I am beginning to believe that a mutt is probably a much hardier animal.  Of course I shouldn't try to figure it out until we see the vet.  The dog sleeps on my bed so I am understandably concerned!

We are having strange weather today - the sun will shine brightly for a little while, then the clouds form and it gets overcast; when it rains it comes down so violently like I've never seen before.  The wind has been up since early this morning and I sure don't enjoy walking Rocky when it is blowing like this.

I'm going to be taking a long time to get used to my smart phone, and I will only ever do the basic stuff.  I don't think it's at all intuitive, but maybe that's because my intuition is from 1940 and honed throughout that decade.  Time have changed!  When the phone rings and I answer a call or a message, the screen changes before I can figure out what is going on!    I got a case for it, but it does't actually "close" .  The  phone fits into it and there is a raised lip around the screen so that the glass doesn't hit the ground if you drop it, but would land on that small lip of the case.  I probably should have gotten one that closes completely but I didn't.  My main concern is keeping it out of the jaws of The Destroyer!  He will always find what I don't want him to have, and especially the little thing I forgot to put out of his reach when I walk out of the room.

I think it will be raining cats & dogs around the time I have to leave to go to the vet!  Donald will be here in about an hour to take us.

  1. It seems that we have been having odd weather all over the country and actually the world. Did you see that picture of an odd yellow cloud that was shaped like an arrow but did not last very long over Canada?

Good luck with Rocky as well as your new phone.

    1. No, I didn't see the cloud over Canada photo. There are a lot of weird happenings so I'm not surprised.

I've just ordered a doggie backpack for Rocky. I will put a few things in it - don't want it to be too heavy - but maybe it will help slow him down and he won't pull so much on the leash while wearing it.

  2. You will get used to your new phone. Just takes a while as it is so different from a flip-phone. I got an iPhone a year ago November and really enjoy it now (do e-mails, texts, take photos, etc.). Yes, it was frustrating in the beginning, but you do get the hang of it. I am in your same age bracket and no I am not a hi-tech person. Only wish is that some type of instruction booklet came with it, but did survive without one. Good luck and hope Rocky made out OK at the vet.

    1. I will keep trying to use the phone but often revert to the computer to send a msg to one of my kids. My oldest son set it up that I can send and receive texts from my kids who all have Apple phones (I have an Apple computer). Now I have the other kind of phone (Android?). I hope I can get used to it over time - whether or not I'll ever like it is another story.

  3. Smart phones can be confusing. I've had mine for a year and finally I can almost make successful calls on it. I tried to call my wife yesterday but instead I called myself. When I have a problem I look for a young person. I've done that twice and they have me back in order in seconds.
Hope Rocky is okay...they can get worms any time...and the de wormer is miserable as it can give them the runs...yuc....

    1. It is so frustrating for me to try to answer my phone or make a call, and have the screen go back before I can figure out what to do first. To be honest, it really isn't worth all the effort and errors I make for what I get out of it. I think my kids believe they've gotten me into the 21st Century finally! If I'm still blogging in 6 months I'll try to remember to do a recap on how I've dealt with it.

  4. I resisted smart phones for a long time, but honestly now I am hooked on them. I use it for all kinds of things. The thing I use it for the least is talking on the phone:)))
