I've gone through every screen available on Wordpress to
find out how to get rid of the necessity to approve comments. I believe
part of the problem is that many enhancements for writing and
publishing a blog are available in the Premium ($99 a year) version,
whereas Blogspot is free.
In the meantime, I'm going on the premise "better the devil you
know, than the one you don't know" and will resume my attempts to use
Blogger. I guess I will just forget about photos and keep my entries
short and simple.
I apologize for all the drama and confusion
that results from switching back and forth, but I'm sure most readers
are more familiar with Blogger at present, so that is what I will try to
use. I'm cross posting this entry to Blogger as well. Thanks for
anyone who's still hanging with me.

ReplyDeleteI'm following. I changed your address on my blog roll. I'll change it back, again. I have a Mac, and I'm not having problems, but I changed to the new whatchamajig (name gone from brain) quite a while back.
ReplyDeleteIf there is a specific problem you are having, write it. One of us should be able to help you. Importing pictures is a breeze. Just make sure you place your cursor where you want a picture to go.
Choose the picture icon, then choose "upload" and you'll see "choose files". Choose the pictures that you want from your computer. Be sure your cursor is where you want the picture)s) to appear in the blog. Voila! Hope this helps.
In the blogger editor screen, there are two screen types up at the top of the editor box Compose and HTML. The one that is selected is the darker button... If you select the other it will change to be the darker one... Make sure that you are in the compose screen as it you are in HTML, it will expect that you know how to write the code for the things you want to do.... Most of us can't do the code very well if at all...
ReplyDeleteBut if you accidentally get over into that screen then everything goes haywire on you... Especially with loading pictures.... It reverts back to the old old way of putting in pictures from your desktop or somewhere that pictures might be stored other than blogger like photobucket...
Just play around with the screens, and don't be frustrated as eventually you will figure it out.. Sometime doing it wrong will be the best teacher....

ReplyDeleteI totally understand your frustration with Blogger. I've had a couple of episodes that drove me crazy. Finally they were resolved one way or another, and I'm sure yours will be too. Trust me, we've all been there! In the final analysis, I have found Blogger to be more to my liking than WordPress, so I'm still using it, too. Good luck. :)
